The Olive groves and the Territory
The Groves of the farm Gialìda are all located at about 350 meters above sea level in the territory of Ittiri, little hilly town in Sardinia, characterized by a typical Mediterranean climate, with strong influence of the nearby coast and of the prevailing winds coming from the north-west.
Our choice is to cultivate olive trees belonging exclusively to this area because we have the strong belief that here the climate and environmental conditions are unique and propitious, and that the centuries-old tradition in the care of the olive is not a coincidence.
One of our estates is called "Serra ‘e ozu" (i.e. Hill of oil), in order to testify the vocation and the generosity of these lands, as the name attributed by the ancients.
Our gratitude towards this generosity is reflected in the care and in the passion we dedicate to our olive groves, by combining the wisdom, passed down through generations, to the professionalism and to the latest knowledge in the study and application of agronomic techniques.
For this reason we make use of a young Agronomist, whose training and experience are accompanied by a deep-rooted familiarity with the territory.
The care, the attention, and especially the passion and the love for the Earth, are the requirements to get a final product of recognised quality, as extra virgin olive oil GIALÌDA is.
